Reimagined Shoofly Quilt Block Tutorial
It’s time for another fast and easy quilt block tutorial. This is a series on my YouTube channel. I love making these short and sweet videos for you. Measurements and instructions are all shown on the video, but you can also find the measurements below. During the video I don’t speak at all. There is only some nice background music playing. Best of all, the videos are between 5 and 10 minutes. That means you can learn a new block in no time! This time I’m turning an oldie but a goodie into something different. Join me as I show you my reimagined shoofly quilt block.
This block is fun and easy to make and it is a terrific scrap buster. If you know me, you know I love a good scrappy quilt. Make sure you check out my “Fast & Easy Quilt Blocks” series over on my YouTube channel for more fun blocks.
Video Highlight: You will learn how to make 2 1/2″ half square triangles using the 8-at-a-time method. This is a great skills to have.
This block is a nice 10 1/2″ unfinished size block.

Possible Quilt Layouts and Color Ideas
It is always fun trying out different color combinations and block placements with my Electric Quilt 8 software. These are all made with the same number of blocks. Look at all of the different results.
First I went with some fall colors. The second one is a festive look. Third I went with a scrappy layout which I really love. Lastly I set the blocks on point for an entirely different look.
