Let’s Make the Quilted Bottle Gift Bag

What You’ll Need
- 2 squares of fabric (one for the outside and one for the lining) that measure 13″ square.
- 2 strips for the handles that measure 2 1/2″ x 10″.
- 1 piece of thin batting that measures 13″ square.

Line up the lining (wrong side facing up), the batting and the outer fabric (wrong side facing down). Quilt as desired and trim to 12″ square.

Fold in half along the long side (with outer fabric facing) and clip. Using a 1/4″ seam allowance sew along the open edge and the bottom. Leave the top open.

Before turning the bag right sides out, flatten the bottom corner. and mark a line about 1 1/2″ from the point formed. Sew on that drawn line. Repeat on the other side. Then turn the bag right sides out.
Finish the Bag

Fold over the top edge two times (about 1″ each fold) and clip. Sew along the bottom edge to secure it. It is easier than it looks because you feel the edge as you are sewing.

To make the handles, press the strips in half on the long edge. Then press each edge to that center crease formed at first. Fold it together and press again. Using an 1/8″ seam allowance, sew along each edge of the handles.
Fold over the raw edges of the handles about 1/2″ and sew across the top. Clip the handles to the inside of the bag, deciding the desired length. Sew them to the bag, on top of the seam created when you made the small folds.

That is all there is to it. Now you can bring a bottle of your favorite beverage in style!
