Making My City Lights Quilt
City Lights is one of my most popular patterns. It is easy to make, looks great and uses precuts. I was fortunate enough to receive some gorgeous fabrics from Benartex to make a new version of this pattern. The blues, teals and greens in this pack of 2 1/2″ strips shines and gives my quilt a fresh look.
Disclosure: Some of the products in this post were generously provided by Benartex Fabrics.
This quilt is surprisingly simple to put together. It is great for your favorite fabrics. I used strips from a gorgeous new fabric line called Paisley Garden. Designed by Laura Coia for Benartex Fabrics, it is a lovely line. Just look at those colors!

For the background fabric I chose Benartex’s Cotton Shot in Platinum. I think it really shows off those blues and turquoises. The binding will be in that lovely floral turquoise.
How to Assemble the Quilt
In my video I run through the quilt block and top assembly. It is essentially one block with the top and bottom rows being just a little bit different.
Pattern Versions
This is my third version of City Lights. I have now made one in every size. The baby size in a rainbow of colors was made with a strip-pie set of Superior Solids from Benartex.
Here are my three versions.

I have awesome pattern testers. Here are their versions. It is so much fun to see all of the different color combinations people come up with!

You can get my City Lights pattern in either a pdf (digital) version or a paper one in my Etsy shop.

My pup Frisco likes my new quilt too!
