Lunar Glow Batik Fabric Blog Hop
I would like to present my newest signature fabric line with Island Batik, a division of Lumin Fabrics. This new line is filled with rich greens, blues, teals and purples. To accompany this fabric I’ve designed four new quilt patterns and I’m hosting a blog hop. So sit back, relax and take a look at the new Lunar Glow batik fabric.
Disclosure: Some of the items in this blog post were generously supplied by Island Batik.
I did a quick video showing off all twenty fabrics that are in the line. You can see that here.
The Fabrics

When I was designing the quilts for this line I had a hard time deciding which fabric(s) to use. They are all so beautiful. In the end I decided to go with three quilts that used precuts and one that did not. I enjoy designing with precuts because you can use so many fabrics in one quilt.

The Patterns
All of these patterns are available in both digital (pdf) and paper formats. They can all be found in my Etsy shop. Each one was designed with Electric Quilt 8 software and longarm quilted by Melinda Keppler.
Twisted Ribbons

Using 10″ precuts and background fabrics, this is a great pattern for a confident beginner. Because it uses precuts the quilt has a lovely scrappy look to it. Instructions for two sizes are included.

Stepping Stones

Designed for 2 1/2″ strips, Stepping Stones is an easy quilt for a beginner to put together. The scrappy border adds a fun touch to the quilt. Instructions for two sizes are available.

Spinning Lanterns

Grab a pack of your favorite 2 1/2″ strips and some background fabric and make this quilt. It is a great design to show off beautiful fabric and the design has a bit of whimsy to it. Instructions for two sizes are included.

Rippling Swirls

With its more traditional look, Rippling Rippling Swirls is a good pattern for an experienced quilter. There are three sizes to choose from. That center square is a great place to show off a favorite fabric.

March 8, 2026 at 9:47 PMI love how the rich mix of greens, blues, and purples in your Lunar Glow line really sparks creativity—using precuts to create that scrappy look seems like such a fun way to experiment with different patterns. I also appreciate how accessible these designs are for beginners, making it easier to dive in without feeling overwhelmed.
